Random Beer Roundup - The It's My Party and I'll Drink Beer if I Want To Edition

Thank you to everyone who attended, helped, and donated to the Third Anniversary party. We had a great time and we already can't wait for HBG 4!

I am really looking forward to a couple things from the Roundup. First, next weekend (9/4) is a Lambic by the glass event at Rich O's in New Albany. This is making me thirsty just thinking about it. We talk about going there just about every weekend, but for some reason or another, we almost never get around to it. Next weekend, however, I think that I will make an extra effort. Second, Lafayette Brewing Co. has a Java Porter, and if you know only one thing about me, it's probably that I love coffee beer. What are your plans for the weekend?

What's Brewing

From Greg at Lafayette Brewing Co in Lafayette:
On tap at LBC: Ouiatenon Wit; Prophet's Rock Pale Ale; East Side Bitter; Piper's Pride Scottish Ale; Tippecanoe Common Ale; Eighty-Five; Black Angus Oatmeal Stout and our latest release, Collaboration Java Porter.

The release of our new specialty beer, Collaboration Java Porter, officially hit the taps on Thursday, August 27. This coffee-infused brew is the product of joint effort between LBC brewmaster, Greg Emig, and local coffee merchant, Jerry Kalal, of K. Dees Coffee. "We were looking for the right blend of coffee that would complement the flavors of a porter. Jerry's intimate knowledge of various coffee varieties, growing conditions and roasting methods made the process both fun and educational," commented Emig. The pair choose Killer Beans Brazilian Bombshell blend for the brew. Produced from the highest grade Brazilian shade grown beans, this organic coffee is deep-bodied with rich caramel flavors and a smoky finish that beautifully enhance the caramel and light roast flavors of our delicious porter.
From Kwang at Oaken Barrel in Greenwood:
Cream Ale is on tap!!
From Jerry at Rock Bottom Downtown:
In addition to our core beers we have Happy Pils, a nice hoppy Czech Pils, Vienna Lager, and by the weekend Hop Bomb IPA.

We also have a Cask Conditioned Firkin Tapping at the Old Town Ale House on Thursday @ 7 p.m. It will be the First Waltz Imperial Rye IPA and Dave and I will both be there.

Lastly, we are doing a beer tasting at the Art Bank on Mass Ave. for their First Friday event and will have 4 beers on hand for people to sample.
