UPDATE - Upland Tasting Room now open!

Back in September we reported that Upland was opening a tasting room in Broad Ripple. We're now happy to report that the tasting room at 49th and College has officially opened as of 2:00 pm on Monday, November 9th.

Super-cool growler fillers.

Hours:

Monday - Thursday from 2 - 10 pm,
Friday - Saturday 12 - 10 pm., and
Sunday 12 - 8 pm

On Tap: Preservation Pilsner, Wheat, Helios Pale Ale,
Dragonfly IPA, Rad Red Amber Ale, and Rauchbier.

Right now, pints can only be purchased on Sundays and Mondays but growlers are available everyday except Sunday. Growlers are $12 new or $8 for a refill.

You won't find their newest release, Teddy Bear Kisses, in the tasting room just yet, but the Russian Imperial Stout will be there soon. We'll keep you posted.

  1. Is that one of those fill from the bottom growlers things? I've never actually seen a place do that.

  2. Anyone that knows what they are doing will at least use a tube to fill growlers from the bottom. The unique thing here is that the growler is purged with CO2 before being filled.

  5. had a wonderful 1st experience at the upland tasting room...

It's a unique concept and I hope they do very well--- the location has a laid back, coffee shop feel. I was struck by how far south of Broad Ripple it is, but the business was brisk and they had friendly employees who were nicely taking care of business. Apples for 75c, I spied some traders point cheese... and that filling device is pretty badass - I'm curious to experiment and find out its effects.

I asked about the $6 Wednesday fills and - at least for now - they indicated that'd be a regular special.

Flights of 3 and 6 varieties. I was very impressed by the Rad Red on draft (and red ales usually aren't my thing - a bit too sweet and in between styles... but this one was on the hoppier side).

Anyway, an uncracked growler of dragonfly is waiting at home... screaming deal, IMO, and I can't wait to get back home!

  6. I love the Rad Red. Aside from the Wheat, it's my favorite Upland Beer that's not a seasonal.

  7. the rad red is really nice. their old red was pretty bad, which was dissapointing because i love a good red. but i tried rad last month in bloomington and i could see myself drinking that on a regular basis. way to go on the recipe, caleb!
