Random Beer Roundup - The Edition with no name

January is in full swing and we have been busy! Knight Jason spent some time Wednesday afternoon with local brewers, restaurant and brewery owners, and other craft beer lovers speaking with members of the Senate to make an effort to forward a Bill that allows breweries in the state to sell carry-out growlers on Sundays. We are pleased to announce that the Bill passed by a vote of 9-2 and we are hopeful as it moves along to the next step.

We also did some bacon and beer experiments with our pal Clay this week. If you are interested in finding out more about this weird experiment, you may want to keep your eyes out for our second annual Craft Beer Breakfast coming up in a few months.

We are preparing for the Winterfest event coming up at the end of the month, on January 30th. If you have not purchased your tickets, you can get them online or from a variety of breweries and brewpubs around the state (you probably should call ahead if you want to buy them there). Get them early because you will not be able to get them at the door.

And there's some kind of football game on Saturday too, I hear. What will you be drinking pre, during, and/or post game?

If there is something coming up that is not listed, we would love to hear about it. News, reviews, info, etc., to share for our next Random Beer Roundup can be submitted to hoosierbeergeek@gmail.com.)

Carry Out

From Corrie at Goose the Market in Indianapolis:
New on the shelves in the cellar at Goose the Market...
Bell's Hopslam comes but once a year. All the girls and boys on the "good list" can stop by the Goose for 6packs or singles.

A new Hoosier brewery in Brazil, Indiana, uses local honey for their first bottling: Hoosier Honey Wheat. Try Indiana's latest from the Goose in 6packs or singles. P.S. Folks at Bee Creek Brewery promise their next bottle--a hearty coffee stout-like brew--should be buzzing in soon.
As the first certified organic brewery in the USA, Eel River is also the first brewery powered by biomass. That may not sound very appetizing, but their beer sure is. Now at the Goose is Eel River's IPA and Triple Exultation (an old ale with kick).
