WINTERFEST 2011... it's coming!

Did you know there are only 38 more shopping days?

Yeah, the holidays are upon us. Time just flies, doesn't?

Before you know it, WINTERFEST will be upon us! You know, that winter beer festival that the Brewers of Indiana Guild puts on? It's coming up in just over two months.

Never been? Well, here's the short version of the story: it will be held on Saturday, January 29th at the Ag/Hort Building of the Indiana State Fairgrounds. You come, you sample beers from 50+ breweries and 150+ beers. It's indoors, though there is an outdoor beer garden and you'll likely wait outside for a bit before getting in.

Now here are some details that everybody will want to know...

General Admission tickets are $35. This gets you in, a tasting glass, a program, and access to 2 ounce beer samples. Entry begins at 3pm.

There are VIP tickets available as well (limited to 500). They are $50. With this, you get in an hour early and you receive a lanyard for your glass.

Designated Driver tickets are $10. DD's get free soft drinks and water. But they must be 21.

Tickets are available online at IndianaBeerFest.com and are on sale now. A limited number of General Admission tickets will be available at select Crown Liquor stores some time next week. But that's it. There will be no ticket sales at Indiana breweries or brewpubs.

I repeat: THERE WILL BE NO TICKET SALES AT INDIANA BREWERIES OR BREWPUBS.

And except for designated driver tickets, there will be no ticket sales at the door.

I repeat: THERE WILL BE NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.

Oh, and restrooms... in addition to the regular restrooms in the building, we will have a tent attached to the back of the building with 40 portalets. It will be a magical thing. Like touring Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

I'll let that sink in for a moment...

So that covers the basics of it. You'll see us there. In fact, we'll probably be the ones telling you not to write your name in the snow. More details as they come...

  3. Anonymous - we sure will! Emails to homebrew clubs are going out this week. There is no one to blame for their delay but myself.

  4. Really. You compared the prota-potties to a chocolate factory. Awesome.
