It's almost here!

DarkLord Day is Saturday the 26th, and a couple of the Knights of the Beer Roundtable are planning on attending. But we're rookies...

How about you? Headed to Munster? Care to share your plans? Wanna give us a ride? Got any tips? Leave a comment!

  1. Yeah, hey, if you, uh, happen to grab an extra bottle or something, there might some New Glarus in it for you. :)

  2. i'll be going for my third year straight. i would suggest getting there early and bring some beer to trade. there are a lot of cool people that will let you try all kinds of beer you've never even heard of.

  3. I'll be there. Parklife, how early would you recommend? I may have the option of staying in a hotel for free on Friday, so I could get there VERY early. Otherwise, I may just drive up early on Saturday.

  4. Is everyone coming back home Saturday? Or do you have hotels booked?

  6. I'm not sure what my Saturday night plan is yet. Again, I might have a free hotel room to crash in. I'll probably play it by ear and see if we've got someone capable of getting back to Indy when we're done.

  7. This will also be my 3rd year going. I am going to be there by 8 am with beer to trade and sample.

FFF's bought more of the warehouse they are in and they are supposed to have more lines and more efficient getting through. Last year I was there by 9 am and then line cutters came rushing in and I was in line for about 2 hours waiting for beer, but they only had 2 people taking money. I will see you guys there! I would offer a ride, but my in-laws live in the town next door and we are going up for the weekend. Guest Breweries include Russian River, Pizza Port, Surly, and a few others that I can't remember. Vanilla bean oaked aged DL, and regular Oak Aged DL are available in the brewpub.

Cash Only!! and bring sunscreen, I got burnt last year.

  9. I don't think I will be able to go, but if I swing it somehow I will try to say hello!

  10. Wish I could make it, but I didn't get it on my calendar early enough. Hopefully next year. Looking forward to the various blog entries about the event!

  11. A friend and I are going again this year.

We're leaving on Thursday and are going to hit up New Holland, Founders, Bells and Dark Horse (and maybe a few other stops time permitting).

We'll be there bright and early on Saturday. I recommend getting there between 8-10am so you can get in on all the tasting.

FFF's said they're supposed to be much more organized this year with lots more room, shorter lines, guest breweries. Let's hope it all works out that way...

  12. To be honest, I'd be more excited about hitting up Founders than Three Floyds if we're just going on beer alone...

You'll have to let us know how your Michigan tour goes!

  13. i wasn;t aware of the guest breweries. i've never tried russian river and i think i'm more excited about that than dark lord... anyways, i'm hoping tobe up there by about 9. i originally planned on taking friday off and hitting some breweries in chicago first but things didn't work out. but i'm definitely sticking around saturday night because i plan on DRINKING and i don't want anyone in our crew being relegated to a DD. we have some rooms at the amerihost a few miles away and it'll be all cabs, all day.

i'll have some homebrew so hunt me down.

  14. This year there will be real ale from breweries such as: Pizza Port, Firestone walker, Piece, Rockbottom Chicago, Flossmoor station, Goose Island, and Russian River, as well as FFF. Also, live music from 11 to 11, and Darklord 2007 on tap, Barrel aged Darklord and barrel aged Darklord with vanilla beans.

GBS will be there filming in HD.
