Random Beer Roundup - The Ice and Snow Blow Edition

Thanks to all who made this Winterfest the best one yet!  If you saw the folks who were filming, you can check out a promo for what will be airing here.  Great to see all the familiar faces!

We were thrilled with how the event ran this year.  We hope everyone in attendance had a great time and we look forward to seeing  you all in the summer (Tickets will go on sale in May).

If you didn't make it to Winterfest to try the Replicale (Ackerman's Imperial Double Stout, affectionately dubbed AIDS by the KOTBR), you'll get another shot to sample them side by side at the Tomlinson Tap Room on Wednesday, February 23rd.  You can read more about the event and the recipe here.

Also I know you will all be excited to know that the Ed Hardy beers are in.  Um, wtf?  Oh, beer...sometimes you win, sometimes you don't.

If there is something coming up that is not listed, we would love to hear about it. News, reviews, info, etc., to share for our next Random Beer Roundup can be submitted to hoosierbeergeek@gmail.com. Don't see your favorite craft beer establishment? Let them know you'd like to see them here! Work for an establishment that serves craft beer? We want to hear from you too!

From Dan and Lani at Great Crescent in Aurora:
We are heading to Monticello on Feb 10th for the first can run. We'll have more info when we return to the brewery, hopefully with pictures. We will be canning a variety of our beers to start with, but it looks like Dark Lager will be ready in the conditioning tank about the time the cans have arrived and canning machine has been through its final operational checks. We will can other styles from kegs that we are setting aside for that purpose.

In Hops We Trust, is ready for its grand release! Brewed with heavy doses of American hops, this Imperial IPA at 8.6% ABV and 147 IBUs is going to scream with citrus and herbal hop flavor. In an attempt to thank all who are responsible for this momentous occasion, we are going to host double tappings (that’s right – two) starting with Wednesday, February 9th at 7 p.m. at our Downtown Indy location. As a food pairing, Chef Steven Anderson will be featuring an Indian specialty, Chicken Tikka Masala, while it lasts. We will also be celebrating with our Northside friends on February 10th at 6:30 p.m. at the Fishers location. Fishers Chef David Blair has selected the Zesty Buffalo Chicken Salad, Amber Ale Chicken Sandwich, and BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger as great pairings with this monster seasonal beer.

  1. I think you left out the 2 in 23 in the first paragraph.

"sample them side by side at the Tomlinson Tap Room on Wednesday, February 3rd."

Thanks for the updates as always.
