The "How Was Your Winterfest?" Post

Saturday's Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest seemed to go off without a hitch, thanks largely to our volunteers, who did everything they were asked and more.

The folks I spoke to on the attendee side had nothing but good things to say, but I didn't speak to everyone - leave us a comment, let us know what you thought, and how it went for you.

And thanks for coming.

  1. Best beer festival I've ever been to. It barely edged out the phenomenal Seattle International Beer Festival I went to a couple of years back.

    Congrats on an awesome festival.

  2. My wife and I loved the event and will be regular attendees from now on.

  3. Working the firkin tent all day means drinking nothing but firkin beers all day (AWESOME). I managed to completely miss the afternoon Yats (Not awesome) and lose all recollection of the last hour or so of the festival (Awesome and Not awesome at the same time). All in all, Winterfest was PERFECT.

  4. Had a great time. Missed out on a little of the VIP time but it was still worth it. My hats off to Barley Island for having all of their special tappings open for the VIP hour, that was awesome. Firkin tent was great, both in the beer available and being able to get some fresh air and reprieve from the hall. Bathroom situation was infinitely better.

Great festival, lots of great beer. Everyone did a great job putting it on. Thanks for all the hard work.

  5. Agreed, Winterfest was smooth and trouble free -- great crowd, enthusiasm all around.

Tremendous thanks to Hoosier Beer Geeks and their amazing crew of volunteers ... every single one of you f**king rock.

Times like Winterfest reassure me that Indiana is about to occupy its rightful place in the craft beer cosmos. Bet on it, and see you again this summer.

  6. I've been going to Winterfest for a few years now and it's great to see that every year there are more an more local brews. Hats off to all the first time breweries who represented! Thanks to the Geeks and other volunteers!

  7. Fun times!

As I poured beers for the replicale drinkers, I had to look to my co-volunteers and say "If the world was full of people as jolly, kind and happy as those here today, we would all be better off!" Beer really does make everything better!

  8. I didn't win the tickets... so I didn't go. But I heard our Club Wee heavy went over very very well.

  11. We had so much fun too. Ladies bathrooms were clean. We didn't have to wait too long in line. The only feedback I have is I wish there were more food options. We started to get tanked really fast and the food was nasty and expensive. Totally going again next year.

  12. Unfortunately, food options won't change because the event is held on the fairgrounds. The Brewers of Indiana Guild don't have any say on the matter.

  13. This was my third year. After the first year, I called my brother in DFW and he's made the trip the last two years. If you're a beer lover, this is the place to be. Seems like the Guild makes improvements every year which is fantastic. After this year I don't think there is anything to improve upon. Very well organized and run professionally. Although I wish they would offer the lanyards again to hold your beer. I would think they would be money makers every year. Thanks and looking forward to 2013(if the world doesn't end.)
