I didn't realize Rock Bottom had an Oatmeal Stout...apparently I need to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I was curious if you know what beat out the Dominator Dopplebock in its category? That was one of the best very dark craft beers I think I've ever had, so apparently I need to try the two that beat it.
The two beers that beat Sun King for German-Style Doppelbock or Eisbock are both from Germany and they are:
ReplyDeleteGold: Holzfassgelagerter Eisbock, Brauhaus Faust, Miltenberg, Germany
Silver: Hochdorfer Barbara Bock, Hochdorfer Kronenbrauerei Otto Haizmann, Nagold-Hochdorf, Germany
Pretty damn respectable if you ask me.

Nice! I won't be getting beer that I can't pronounce, or even come close in butchering, the name though...never know what the hell I might end up drinking if I try. Hell of a job Sun King! And congrats to the other Indiana brewers!
