From Skip at Fountain Square Brewing Co. in Fountain Square:Flat12 Bierwerks, a craft brewery that opened January 2, 2011, is celebrating its 1st Anniversary on Saturday, the 14th of January. The brewery will tap a special brew called “Winter Cycle”, a Double IPA that comes in at 9.2 ABV/107 IBU.
In addition to the tapping on Saturday, the brewery will hold a cookout, featuring local food, live music and special surprises throughout the day. In the run-up to the Saturday event, Head Brewer Rob Caputo and his staff plan to offer a variety of specialty and barrel-aged beers in the tasting room on Thursday and Friday
On January 6th, First Friday in Fountain Square, we will be tapping our Winter Warmer. A perfect beer for the time of year. A dark ale with caramel notes along with a touch of nutmeg and a hint of raspberry. Deep ruby in color with a tan head, at 6.5% ABV this brew is sure to melt your snowballs.
We're having our Grand Opening Luau on January 21st. from 7pm to 10pm.
The time has finally come for our grand opening. We've had a month or so to get our feet wet (sometimes literally) and have had some time to brew a few great seasonals in addition to our house lineup. So now its time to celebrate and we would love to have our community of friends and those new to Fountain Square Brewery to join us for our Winter Luau. Come dressed for the heat and maybe you'll win a marginally valuable prize! Oh, and there will also be some great Island eats and music!

Also to give all of you beer lovers a heads up, we will be tapping our next seasonal on Tuesday January 17th. It will be the Lombardi’s Super Baltic Porter.

Sunday, January 8th, we are hosting the Fountain Square Pinball Classic, a day long pinball tournament, with fajitas and craft beer, starting at 10 a.m., lasting until we crown a champion.
To compete, call (317) 431-4976 for more details. Entry cost is $43, and includes tourney entry, food, pint glass, beer. Prizes will be awarded. To eat, play pinball machines on free play, and drink beer, that cost is $25, and can be paid at the door.Fountain Square will be the featured brewery. And we will be offering their entire current beer list. We anticipate over 10 machines, as well as a slew of Top 100 pinball players in the world.

I can tell you that we are pouring Flat 12 Porter, Sun King Cream Ale and SK Sink the Clipper Imperial ESB, Two Brothers Resistance IPA, People's Mr. Brown Ale, Saison Dupont Farmhouse, boulevard Tank7, oh yeah, and a bit of Leviathan has found it's way to us, but I believe it will blow tonite....Schmaltz's Lenny's RIPA has been pretty tasty as well.

The Winter Warmer at Fountain Square was good - but I could only do it in small doses. There's a whole lot going on in that beer. But worth trying.
