I was impressed with schlafly's pumpkin beer as well. Pumking is decent, but I wasn't too impressed. Pumpkin beers in general tend to be one night stands for me.

We were in BW3 last night for MNF and enjoyed some Schlafly Pumpkin Ale. Delicious, although more heavy on the clove and anise than I remember. Maybe it was the Red's Rye I had previous to it that caused that sensation.

I like this post because there was a Beer Advocate thread about it proclaiming how stupid we were for eliminating Pumking. Controversy is awesome.

Maybe it was two bad bottles from Jungle Jims, but that beer simply did not taste like pumpkin.

This is a fun roundtable, though. I encourage everyone to try it on a smaller scale at home and see which you prefer. Maybe we should do it again this year.
